Emerging Voices Youth Outreach
The Oregon Chorale’s Emerging Voices program was established in partnership with the choral directors of Hillsboro’s four high schools and expanded in 2017 to include the Forest Grove and Beaverton school districts.
This internship program provides talented high school musicians with the opportunity to experience professional choral performances.
Four to six interns are selected for each term and are expected to attend all rehearsals and performances related to their concert cycle. Emerging Voices Interns receive music, a professional choir folder, and voice lessons from a professional voice instructor at no cost.
The high school choir programs of participating interns also receive free choral clinics from Artistic Director Jason Sabino.
The Oregon Chorale strives to strengthen and support the music education community in Washington County and foster musical growth, a continued love of music, and an enthusiasm for choral performance that extends into college and continues throughout life.
